People with clinical mental illness can’t control themselves. It’s a disease. People have to remember that when someone is depressed they can’t just become happy. They need therapy and help. As someone with clinical manic depression I go through many days of sadness. Some days where I don’t even want to be alive but I manage through therapy to help me get through the day. People with clinical mental issues can overcome their illness.
Many people suffer from mental illnesses but here are some ways of preventing them from consuming your daily life:
For people with depression, anxiety and manic depression:
For people with depression. Force yourself to get out of bed and hangout with friends. It might be hard but it is worth it. Don’t isolate yourself it will make it worse.
- Write a list of things that made you happy today
- Write a list of things that you like about yourself
- Do deep breathing
- Write in a diary
- Write your feelings that are making you nervous
- Read a book or watch TV
- Go outside for a walk
- Tell someone how your feeling
People who are suicidal:
- Know that this is just temporary
- Talk to someone
- Go to a mental hospital
- Go to a therapist
- Think before you act
- Write reasons why not to kill yourself
People with anorexia or Bulimia:
- Write down what you ate
- Tell someone your problem
- Eat three meals a day
- Get a nutritionist
- Make sure someone is helping your through this
- Go to a mental hospital or therapist
Psychosis, schizophrenia:
- When first have psychosis you might not realize what you are experiencing is not real.
- Tell your family and get help from psychiatrist
- Ignore the delusions and voices
- Take medications
All of these disorders you need to take medications for. Anorexia and Bulimia are the most deadly mental illness. But many people with these mental illnesses can end up living on the streets if not properly treated for. Doing therapy is the best way of getting over mental illnesses. Remember a perso
